Dental implant aftercare is a crucial part of the recovery process after surgery. Following our dentist’s post-operative instructions can make dental implant surgery recovery more comfortable and problem-free.
The cornerstone of dental implant care after surgery is maintaining good oral hygiene. Use a dentist-recommended soft nylon brush to gently remove plaque and food debris around the implant, and be sure to floss around the implant once a day.
What To Expect After Dental Implant Surgery?
Although dental implant surgery is routine at Asure Dental, you should know that you might experience some pain and discomfort after the surgery. Our dentist will prescribe pain medication during home care after dental implant surgery to relieve pain.
Use warm saltwater to keep your mouth clean. Hold the saltwater over the surgery site and avoid swirling it around harshly.
You might even experience some bleeding, especially during the first few days after the surgery, which is normal. If the bleeding is profuse, call our dental office right away.
What To Eat After Dental Implant Surgery?
Your diet might need to be modified for a few days after dental implant surgery. Avoid hard and chewy foods and stick to soft and easy-to-chew foods. Soups, broths, bananas, soft-boiled eggs, and mashed potatoes are great choices. You can even try nutritious smoothies and boiled veggies.
Keeping your scheduled visits to Asure Dental is also crucial for recovery. If you still have any questions, we would love to answer them; give us a call!
